As an Indian citizen, I'd like to provide input with reference to the issue of Net Neutrality and the possibility of being charged for various services above and beyond my data plan.
Net Neutrality is extremely important to me as somebody who values free speech beyond all else. And considering this is a democracy, I believe it should be our governments primary concern. The Internet is the last and only medium left in which all providers, consumers, content writers ,etc are all equal and all have the same access, as they should. This issue was brought up in the netherlands and after some agitation, the government agreed to leave the internet free and neutral to all rather than providing fast lanes for some, or charging for certain services. The inability of telecom companies to keep their business afloat due to the rapidly changing architecture of the communications sphere should not be a burden to the common man. I implore you to let the internet remain free and neutral to all and be an example to the developing and developed world alike by showing them that our ideals are still firmly based on those of democracy.
