I would like to voice my strong opposition to the proposed OTTS regulatory framework being demanded by the telecom industry. We DO NOT need our internet connectivity controlled by our greedy telecom companies.
We should keep the internet neutral for use and access. Under the proposed plans telecom companies are demanding to extort people for the popular internet services just by citing their fall in revenue. Rather than paying for selective service we should be paying for better connectivity speed and bandwidth.
On top of this proposed extortion, the telecom companies are free to make money from internet sites since the telecom companies would be able to sit at the node and control connectivity speed and pricing.
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India is the custodian of people's interest and should not budge under pressure from the telecom operators who are looking to extort people who use the internet and also stifle the freedom of the internet and hence OTTS should not be licensed and the internet should be priced on connectivity speeds only.
