A free and open internet is an imperative for a modern democracy. Social networks have changed the way we talk to each other, share ideas and participate in day to day decision making on every scale. An internet without the free flow of ideas handicaps the citizenry and gives undeserved profits to ISP's. Please take down the recent consultation proposing this fraud against content creators and internet users, do not choose corporate interests over the interests of your people. The recent proposal does not enhance services in any way. It is as senseless as electricity companies demanding more money when we use electricity for specific devices. The consultation paper encourages unfair business practices.

Across the globe similar moves have been defeated by a proactive citizenry and sympathetic governments. As the fastest growing market for internet services in the world, India must take a stand against such extortion.

I hope the thousands of emails pouring in, along with the many petitions being signed online will convince you of the same. Net Neutrality is an important asset to the country's people, and it must be protected at all costs.

Thanking You,
Yours Sincerely,
