Differential pricing and anti neutrality policies will kill the startups and innovation from India. All of us agree to an extent that messaging apps will be key to a smartphone era. Indian startups have just started working on innovation around messaging apps after the whatsapp/messenger wave hit India. Once these apps are differentially/preferentially priced the established competent players can establish specific tie-ups with carriers but the new players without deep pockets cannot even compete due to the lack of level playing field. So even if someone comes up with a better whatsapp in India, it still won't get traction or momentum because whatsapp may have special arrangement with carriers.Hence we will never see a whatsapp/facebook kind of innovation from India.
