Dear administrators of the country,
You have a big responsibility on your shoulders. every decision you make goes a very, very long way in changing the society in the present as well as in shaping its development and what it becomes in the future.
Internet is something which is designed to be unbiased and free. Internet fuels the creativity of uncountable people and force many entrepreneurs top push beyond their comfort areas where they can continue exploiting the people. OTT and VOIP apps threaten the existence of conventional business like telecom companies, but it is because the developers of such apps have done created something much better, easily accessible and efficient than the telecom companies.
By regulating these apps, you are curbing the growth of every such innovative developer, preventing the development of people who use these services at some level as well as filling up the pockets companies which are already earning big bucks without much work. This decision will not help at Indian people in any way and will only prove to a hindrance for India to stand at the same level with any other country in the world. I suspect such a decision may even affect the perspective of the international community towards India for the worse.
I believe that internet should be free and unregulated (for the most part) to be a means of personal, national, and international development. And thus, I express my strong opposition to this regulation. With that, I hope you understand the repercussions of such a decision on the country and the people for a longer term instead of just today and make a decision which benefits the people of India and is supported by strong and justifiable evidence. Thank you for considering my opinion about the matter.
Best,
