And regarding the 20 questions, here are my answers -

  1. Question 1 - Yes it is too early for the same. There is a need to understand the penetration of the Internet market and how the same will effect the consumers
  2. Question 2 - No, that should never happen, as then the concept of Open Development will die out.
  3. Question 3 - Yes the revenues of the TSP (Traditional Service Providers), are under pressure, but that is due to the cut throat competition in the market, the market will eventually reach saturation and then it should be fine
  4. Question 4 - It should all depend on the data, the consumer should be charged on the data being consumed and not the services being provided. Nope and price can never be means for product/service differentiation, does it mean that for a customer having only data pack on 1 GB and bandwidth on 2 MBPS, should have data delivered to him/her at less bandwidth cause he has subscribed only for 1 GB. Doesn't make sense right.
  5. Yes there is imbalance and a regulatory framework needs to come in but looking at the interests of both the OTT Players as well as the consumers involved.
  6. Question 6 - I believe the OTT players do now have the track of the metadata involved for their services, this should be enough for now. In future there could be a provision to change this as per the need arises.
  7. Question 7 - How does this question even come in for the licensing, that I am unable to understand. But as asked the answer is that the OTT players need to ensure that the app meets the industry security standards, but at the same time this is a collective responsibility of both the OTT players as well as the consumer.
