Subject: Net Neutrality - You know it's necessary.

Ever since I came across this term, back when this issue was raised in the United States, I have been trying to tell people around me how important it is. It's the internet. It's supposed to be free and accessible by everyone, not just by the rich.

Letting telecos charge separately for various internet services is the worst thing that could happen to the internet.
Imagine this scenario. A very interesting cricket match is going on, but you are travelling and can't access a TV. But no worries, you have a 3G connection and all you need to do is go to YouTube and watch a live stream. But if Telecos are not bound by Net Neutrality, they can (and will) charge extra for video streaming during that match.

It also hurts the people living off their creative talents. People with good drawing skills can make an easy living off YouTube. Now YouTube get their revenue through the ads the website shows. But if Telecos started to charge YouTube for bandwidth, it will have less money to give to creators which equals less creative content.

I hope you consider people's opinion on this, and don't budge by corporate pressure.

PS : Don't you think that this is also a good time to review blocked websites in India? Especially URL shorteners.
