Hello TRAI,

I am a 24 year old Software developer born and raised in Bangalore. Computer Science and how it extends the capability of an individual to a whole planet has been my passion even before I grew facial hair.

When I was in school, I used to read many blogs who used to freely express their ideas and views along with people from all over the world discussing about fragile topics freely without and fear. In my view this the was the only place in the world where "Freedom of Speech" is real and practiced by revolutionary individuals. But in public forum of India like news channels, debates, open discussions etc. I do not see this same open fearless discussions.

"I was arrested by the police because I pressed the like button on Facebook", I do not want to live in a world where such things happen, brings a tear in the corner of my eye.

Food, clothes and shelter: the basic necessities of life. That might be for the poor unfortunate farmers of India who are again suppressed by the government and the people in many ways. But for the rest of the population Internet connectivity is a basic necessity. I don't think even the smallest of businesses in a town/city can work without Internet. But, why do we pay so much for getting a simple Internet connection? I agree that an average working class family can afford Broadband, but the same family cannot afford Mobile data that will suffice for the kind of usage that will need. We need to learn from South Korea who have the best Internet connectivity.

Facebook, Twitter, Quora, Reddit, Hacker News etc are the public forums that are used to discuss any sort of topic. All of the above forums have no rule stating "Discussions regarding same sex marriage is prohibited", but still none have the courage to openly speak about such sensitive issues as Indian government will ask Facebook to remove those content or they will arrest the person who started the revolution.

I truly believe that the Internet is the only battle field left where the common men of India has a chance to battle out the outstanding obvious issues that we face today with the government. Please do not follow the path of USA with NSA stealing data from all the IT giants and have a tab of every single person who even visits there for a vacation. USA's government killed Aaron Swartz, blamed and charged Edward Snowden, arrested Julian Assagne and killed the hopes of humanity. The above mentioned people are the revolutionary heroes of our times.

"Information is power, and like all power there are those who keep it to themselves" --Aaron Swartz

I am extremely happy that TRAI has opened up to the public in such a manner. But it would have been better if all of these mails you get are made public(cant even use RTI to get this information out). Please continue this effort and please hear out the billion voices in their original voice, not the voice they use out of fear.
