Hello,
Open Internet is what is the actual meaning of Internet.
It's very silly of incurring charges based on some distinct apps or services. The ISPs only wish this point to be raised as a reason of increasing unnecessary charges.
We can understand that we're relying more on Internet services over texts and calls nowadays. So, only a handful subscribe to message cards and those older services. But due to the larger use of internet on mobiles, the subscription of net packs have also increased that needs to be considered.
So, though the revenue from message packs and older tariffs has decreased, the revenue collected from net tariffs has increased considerably which may well counter balance it.
The services which have been listed like Google, Facebook, Whatsapp are like daily need apps and we've all become dependent on it in research, networking, marketing, education, etc. If they are charged separately, it'll adversely affect many.
I hope this helps and is considered while taking any decision.
