Sir/Ma'am.
I do not agree with charging for the OTTs. It completely defeats the purpose of network neutrality, which in my opinion is a fundamental right in the modern era where internet is started to be treated as a necessity more than a commodity.
Agreeing to charge for the applications will essentially mean that, we the public, are at the mercy of the corporations making these apps. There is a threat that one these corporations decide how much to charge us and can always take us for a ride.
In a country like India which is on the cusp of development, internet is a vital component in its plans, or rather it has to be vital to its plans. Net neutrality guarantees that every individual is treated equally gives us the freedom to use the internet without having to worry about which website/application is going to charge me what. Do you think a guy in some remote village will be able to decide on what apps to buy? Doesn't that have a tendency to limit his usage of the internet? Isn't this going to affect our development when you assume a larg number of people are going to behave the same way?
Every country in the world is battling net neutrality and there is a reason it has not been implemented in any. Let us not do this. We are a wonderful country with so much potential to grow and prosper. This has to be the last reason we should worry about to truly realize our potential.
