Dear Sir,

Kindly find the answers for the questions:

Question 1- Answer: First of all,   every technology is replaced by some other and with time. Nobody can go backwards. If you say that the companies are at loss, please provide data about the net usage in when these services were non-existent. Be it Skype, Viber, Wattsapp all have given a new market to these telecom companies who were complacent an minting money by selling costly calls and smses. Just because the customer is getting value for money by using these services , these companies are expressing their grudge. Moreover, if the technologies were not that remarkable, then why would Bharti start a similar app- “Hike”.  By the logic it gives , every penny should go to the company and no benefit to the people using them. Gone are the days when these companies used to fool people by showing fake profit & loss statements.

Question 2- Answer: These technologies are not confined to boundaries and nor pockets. These are social networking options at a cost. So, there’s meaning of licensing them. And yes these are Google and Microsoft verified apps. These apps are infact helping the Telecom companies and Smartphone companies to make profit.

Question 3- Answer: Of course they are making the companies profitable. People are using a lot of data nowadays for voice and video calls. Everything is already being charged and paid by public. So, where is the problem with these telecom companies? They knew these technologies but never offered them to their consumers….

Question 4- Answer: The quality of data signal quality is still not par with international standards and coverage inconsistent. That is eventually causing problems to the quality of services . People are still paying and buying, so where’s the loss to these companies. No way, these  services could be charged externally.

Question 5- Answer: For a large market like India, nobody is in loss. As consumers increase because of these technological services improvement, the overall consumption is increasing. Only care has to be taken related to cyber or internet crimes or misdoing if practiced at the backdrop .

Question 6- Answer: The cell location verification, user authentication and service provider information’s are already there. Rest what else does one needs to verify. What else did the government used to verify 6-7 years back when these technologies had not evolved?

Question 7-Answer: The apps themselves have a layer of protection and authentication. The service providers are always in the chance of minting money by putting some useless reason citing compromising of security. Can anybody stop his/her phone being stolen? That can happen anytime and anywhere.

Question 8-Answer: Provide good environment for making technological improvement in communications and value added services.

Question 9-Answer: Net-neutrality is need of the hour. Without these means of communication are under-utilized. Don’t make the consumers scapegoats for the selfish interests of the telecom service providers. At one end ,  our government is encouraging us with the slogan “ Jaago grahak jaago”. And on other hand they are expecting from the consumers to be mum and get exploited. This shouldn’t  happen.

Question 10- Answer: No one is using free data. How can you over charge for the rent which you have paid for the usage guaranteed.

Question 11-Answer: These companies offering OTT are already global service providers and are complying to international and national regulations.

Question 12-Answer: The spectrum selling to the providers should be cheaper so as to support the telecom service providers. Government is minting money and the end customer is taken for granted to be penalized by hike in tariffs.

Question 13- Answer: These services are not charging to the consumers as these are technological upgrade. So, no chance of punishing them without reason.

Question 14-Answer: No logic of fixing a price.

Question 15-Answer: It’s a technological advancement and not a service within a service. Why to mix it and charge extra.

Question 16-Answer: Indians are already putting brains in developing these services, so these are not alienated. Any developer can develop similar apps.

Question 17-Answer: These cannot be charged. Consumers are already paying for the usage. And that’s a package cost with the rental plan.

Question 18-Answer: No, these are app based services for which the providers are already getting share of consumption and usage.

Question 19-Answer: They would eventually be discarded by consumers because of non-frequent usage.

Question 20-Answer: It’s the age of WIFI and country like us is already a generation backward. Please don’t backtrack make mockery of the technological advance. Accept the reality and take steps which are progressive not regressive. Don’t let go back to the age of Landlines and Street coin boxes.
