Hello sir
As a citizen of this country, I have a right to present my views and suggest a solution to the problem of net neutrality which is taken up by various service providers.
Internet has not yet reached everyone in India and this step, if taken, will ensure that it doesn't happen in future as well. It's a success for India that a washerman, a rickshaw puller has started using internet but no one will spend extra money on this if internet becomes costlier. Moreover, government needs to understand that these private service providers will take over the entire telecom sector under it and in 3-4 years, government will have no say in it. Ultimately, an average Indian will suffer.
Suggestions
- Come up with unlimited internet packs for longer time, say unlimited data for a year at 3500 rupees or something similar for a period of 3 months. Since services like skype and whatsapp call is generally used by middle class or upper class people. Such a pack would be beneficial for users as well as telecom companies. Telecom companies will get a large amount of money at a time which could be invested further by them.
- Introduction of cheaper call plans so that the call features available through internet do not hinder the normal phone calling much.
I am strictly against the proposed plan of setting up a base price for internet in India.

Archit Aggarwal
