Net Neutrality is an extremely important part of what has made the internet the place it is, without it the small guys would never stand a chance. It was because of Net Neutrality that big companies like Google and Facebook were able to make a mark on us and it is what encourages them to remain innovative.

After recent protests the FCC has also ruled in favour of Net Neutrality. The Netherlands has already implemented laws for Net Neutrality.

Pressure from telecom companies to make profits should not lead to TRAI making a decision against this. Reliance has already begun treating certain data as free while charging for everything else. This will eventually lead to a monopoly for the companies whose data is treated as free.

Companies arguing that apps like Viber, Skype and Whatsapp are eating away at their revenue should be made to realize that as long as there is Net Neutrality there is nothing stopping them from creating similar solutions for their customers. If their product is better i am sure they can generate revenue through them. 

All data on the internet should remain equal only then will it be the level playing ground which we have all come to love. TRAI should also take a strong stance for Net Nutrality.
