Though i am not going to answer the 20 question put forward by TRAI, i do have a strong opinion on this issue. Let me summarize

1. if Whatsapp, Skype or youtube bear there infrastructure cost out of their pocket and consumer uses this service by enabling internet by paying some premium out of his pocket. Why do the consumer have to pay extra for popular services ?

2. if company cost to set up/maintain infrastructure is greater than the cost being charged for internet ... then tariff hike is a convincing realistic solution. Let the consumer make choice to subscribe to the hiked tariff or not.

3. Popular service rather help telecom company in building more internet subscribers. Charging extra cost for their popularity and reach is NONSENSE

4. If consumers are charged based on amount of IP packets consumed for their internet consumption they why differentiate a packet of same size based on their service.

An analogy
Does it make sense to price call tariff based on whom the consumer talks to ( friends, family, stranger .... ) ? Definitely NOT !!!
