I completely agree with the dangers presented here in the above article, which will become real if this new rule is passed. In India we already have a lot of monopolies(or oligopolies) in many domains. Let us not change internet into a similar oligopoly. Already 7 major companies have hold of more than 70% of internet. The new regulation if implemented will further increase their powers and of telecom companies. Several nations around the world are already struggling with the question of how to deal with these giant internet firms whose annual revenues are much larger than the GDPs of these nations. Let us not give more powers to control lives of 1.25 billion Indians. The move might bring some economic benefits to the Indian government, but it will create several social problems, which many will not realise now.
