Dear team,

I would like to show my support for Net neutrality. Since any small action against it can have great impact on Freedom of Speech, it is time for us to think about how to bring profit to telecom operators by a healthy solution, than breaking Net Neutrality, thus the freedom of speech.

In my view, differential pricing for OTT is the first and a firm step in curbing Net neutrality. But I also do not like the idea that the very existence of telecom operators is in question due to OTT players. After all, it is our telecom operators who have built the backbone of Internet. Considering the effect of OTT players on traditional telecom operators, it is widely said that the OTT operators can operate without any license, while the telecom operators need licenses. I think it is time to think if the licensing structure that we have here in India,  which was introduced decades back, is still valid in the context of scientific advances we have.

In a purely technical view, Internet can be a single medium for all our communication needs, be it audio, video or even virtual reality that is shaping up !

So instead of hampering the healthy growth of Internet based services, it would be beneficial for our nation (or all of humanity for that matter), if the telecom operators embrace the fact that Internet will be the communication medium of the future, instead of fighting it.

Please let me know for any queries.

Thanks,
Royzer Williamraj
