I would like to register my vote against introducing anti-Net Neutrality laws. Such laws are against basic rights of people which now includes right to having a free and neutral internet. The job of telecom companies and ISPs is to provide Internet and it's none of their business what happens with it. Even though they're reporting loss of SMS and calling revenue, they would gain double the revenue in Data services. More and more people now use Data packs. On average a customer spends around 175 bucks per month for 2G data services. Throttling internet speed based on the service being accessed is like a vegetable vendor charging you more for carrot because you're going to make Carrot Halwa and not eat it raw. It is totally unethical to throttle internet speeds based on service being used and then charging both the companies as well as customers to provide full access. Recently, the Federal Communications Commission passed laws that favoured Net Neutrality. I believe there is no difference between telecom companies in the USA or in India. Also, to throttle net speeds, telecom companies would need to inspect every packet crossing their network which is a threat to privacy as nobody is supposed to know what data is crossing their network. This would lead to snooping. The internet has become a vital resource in today's world and if we truly want it to penetrate every corner of our country, it must remain in the form it was intended to be i.e free and neutral.
