Hi,

Have been reading up about the new TRAI plans to charge/ regulate OTT services like WhatsApp, Skype and Viber. The arguement being made is that telecom operators are losing money and hence needed to be compensated.

By the same logic, postal services have lost money due to the introductions of emails. Should we now charge money for sending an email too, then?

I believe the internet is the most open and fluid medium of interaction out there. It's great that TRAI has sought the opinions of the masses before proceeding to regulate the OTT services. As a user of the internet, I urge you to preserve net neutrality, to ensure that high costs do not hinder the access and convenience of the internet.

Thank you for reading this.
