Allowing tele-communication companies to control the internet traffic is actually quite absurd. There are tons of reasons why that is the opinion of the majority of the internet users.

Economic:
Newer websites with a lot more potential than those of the existing ones would get suppressed, as not many of these entrepreneurs would be wealthy enough to meet the demands of these companies to allow customers free access to their website. The Internet in it's present stage has enabled many people to rise from poverty on the basis of their talent and hardly on the basis of the amount of money they already possess. Net-neutrality is quite essential for a better economy in a more technologically able world.

Democratic:
The only people who are bound to gain from the abolition of Net-Neutrality are the Tele-Communication companies and the major websites that exist this day. These websites would be able to keep a monopoly over the internet, restrict any competition and in turn, decrease the potential of the Internet. All this, only to make the wealthy, even more so. Keeping the interests of a group of people and not of the population in whole is quite abusive to the democratic constitutions of most nations.

Repressive Progress:
If there are no significant competitors in the market, the major companies tend to forget customer satisfaction. And if newer and better online companies cannot rise, there is not much scope of progress in the IT sector. That seems like quite a flaw, considering that the world is growing entirely electronic and depended on that very sector.

I request you, as might've many others like me to not let a handful of people control one of the greatest inventions of man.
Thank You.
