Dear Sirs / Madams,

This is Manish Gajjaria, an Indian citizen based in Pune, Maharashtra.

This is with respect to the consultation paper titled "Regulatory Framework for Over-the-top (OTT) services " which was released by TRAI on 27th March 2015.

I write this email to you raising some concerns about the recent discussions related to Net Neutrality that have been brought about by some of the Telcos.
Some of the telecom companies seem to be seeking additional data charges for services / applications like Whatsapp, Skype, Viber etc as they claim that people using these services has eaten into their revenues.
As a matter of fact, people are activating their data plans solely to use these services; if these services didnt exist they would have lost even more revenue.

Being a proffessional in the IT industry, I vouch for Net Neutrality where one should have access to any site / feature / application one likes at the same rate; I would not like to see differential pricing for accessing a particular website / feature / application either from my PC or from my mobile.

When a differential pricing is introduced by Telcos, it would lead to a domination of 1 website / feature / app (the site / feature / app which would have paid the Telco) and would lead to a stagnation of growth and available viewpoints.

Teclos need to realize that what they are providing is just a pipe over which we are connected to the Internet; they should not be seeing what data is flowing on the pipe and charge for that data.

Hope some common sense would prevail, and your authorities would take all steps towards Net neutrality in India which will lead to growth for the current and future generations, and who would be grateful to you.

Thanks,
Manish Gajjaria
