Dear TRAI,
Following are my views on your questions regarding Net-Neutrality. Answers are serial wise to your questions:
1) Any regulatory body or framework must not be applied that breaks or may break Net-Neutrality.
2) NEVER, suppose a small SME try out to reach to its customers visa internet but need to pay heavily licensing it, how would it even think of it? It would kill all small alonline only SMEs and would sure hamper the Indian economics.
3) Radios channels cant tax TV channels for their loss. Its like charging a shampoo company as customers left washing their hairs with soap. This idea is illogical.
4) As above, new things always out-date the previous things. It doesnt mean new things should pay the old once. Its how we are now human in this form.
5) The Internet IS a levelled playing field for everybody. In today’s world, OTT players do not operate solely in the virtual world but, on the contrary, interact with “REAL” world products and services, and result in creation of innumerable jobs. In an ever more connected world, any law or regulation which breaks this ‘FLAT’ and ‘NEUTRAL’ nature of the Internet would harm economic growth.
6) This question directly looks into SC and constitution's face. Our privacy is a part of freedom and cant be disclosed to any just any party. To alter this you would have to alter India's constitution.
7) Standard security protocols must be applied and encouraged by OTT. Gov also forces the OTT to adopt end to end encryption for user's safety or the choices one has.
8) Already stated, no regulatory which even from far breaches Net-Neutrality.
9) All the DATA on internet must be treated equally for not only end users it is a must but for gov too. Once the gov allows the Telecoms to sniff DATA, they would sniff Gov data too. It is against the democracy.
10) Any kind of traffic discrimination or management practices should never come in practice and if a TSPs wants to do it for other reasons than Net-Neutrality then it must be completely transparent about its traffic management principles.
11) Same as above, no traffic management to hamper Net-Neutrality.
12) Let it be market driven and not controlled. Market forces would balance the price and profit itself as it happens in other case. ISP can charge for their service on the basis of qulity and speed, not for hampering Net-Neutrality.
13) Again, DO NOT violate the principles of Net Neutrality.
14) As above.
15) As I said above, its what quality that can be charged by the ISP not the bit. Every bit on internet must be treated equally.
16) Ensure that the principles of Net Neutrality are upheld. TSPs with vested interests should NEVER be able to impede consumer access to any app.
17) Again, NO regulatory framework required. NO segregation of OTT players required. NO traffic discrimination required. Every bits are bits. DON’T hamper industry growth. Uphold Net Neutrality. If ISP wants to charge higher, let them work on quality and not by illogical ideas like this.
18) No, there is no need of a framework.
19) Dont neet any framework. It must be a users choice what he wants to do on net. The price must be market driven and not illogical ideas by ISPs.
20) Support Net-Neutrality, support freedom and privacy of end users. One question from my side if you can answer :
Would Telecoms pay to BSNL as their services made BSNL loss for land-lines?
Waiting for your reply.
Thank you
