Sir/Mam

As you know, companies providing Internet are planning to levy a special fee to access some of the websites in the garb of cost of infrastructure. The truth being they want to segregate the speed of internet in allowing some websites to run faster and some to run slower in order to charge more money from the customers and corporates.

In my opinion, this is unfair. Every website should be running on the equal bandwidth provided. Companies charging extra money for some specific websites will make the internet usage difficult to people who cannot pay extra.

I have experienced that the outreach to internet throughout the country has spread more through mobile services than any other way. It will be immoral to keep free access to a particular website/web service and persuade users towards only certain sites. It's just throttling information for everyone. Especially those who cannot afford the OTTs

That being said 'Free internet' in this case is a misnomer because we pay for 'free' internet services already (in the form of data packs) to our service providers and we must not be compelled to pay more

I hope you will take some action and will try to keep the internet equal for everyone everywhere equally.

I support net neutrality.

Thank you.

Regards,
Meghana Kulkarni
