Dear Sir / Madam,

Regarding the consultation paper entitled "Regulatory Framework for Over-the-top (OTT) services" by TRAI, I would like to voice my views.

I am against most of the proposed regulations and have signed the change.org petition to that effect. I believe that Net Neutrality must prevail for our country, and our people to prosper.

The proposed regulations are, in my view, against our basic freedoms as outlined in the Constitution of India.

Today, the Internet is a basic form of communication, and today, it is a major source of empowering the lower rung of income earners in society. It gives access to information and communication to every single person who has access to the internet. This is the very basis of the idea behind the internet.

Tiered, and restrictive access to services on the internet will simply hinder our country's growth in the next 100 years, setting us behind other countries.

With each generation of communication, companies have been forced to evolve, from postal mail, to telegraph / telegram, telephonic communication, cellular telephones, and now internet data services... It is a natural progression with technology, and legislation to restrict access to newer forms of communication is regressive and not in the best interest of our country and society.

I request that all such legislation now, and in the future should be crushed with utmost prejudice, and the interest of our nation, and our nation's people held high at all times.

Sincerely yours,

Susheel Chandradhas
