To whom so ever it may concern,
The steps taken by Airtel towards net neutrality is totally bizarre. Its a typical example of a corporate loaded with money telling the consumers that its either my way or the highway.
The internet is supposed to be free for everyone, hence the name World Wide Web. Monetizing it in this way will lead to a decrease in the growth of the startup sector in India as the costs would increase substantially.
Just think of it , would flipkart be where it is right now if a company was supporting this cause before. NO!
Also, the founder of the world wide web could've charged royalty for any idea that uses the internet as a primary source of business and today he would be the richest person on the planet. If he is willing to make the internet free for everyone, how can the telecom providers alter it to earn revenue.
They say that the next 20 years is primarily for Asia ( growth of Asian countries ). I don't think India will grow in the IT sector if companies like Airtel go against net neutrality.
Please don't go ahead with this. Please don't ruin our lives. After a very long time everyone is a little optimistic. This is not the definition of "ache din aane wale hain". Personally if corporates like Airtel succeed in doing so then " ache din jaane wale hain".
Thanks!
