It has come to my notice that telecom companies are in the process of coming out with usage specific plans. A different plan for Whatsapp, for facebook etc.

I would like to point out that this is a regressive step that will harm the Indian consumer to a great extent.

What I do with the 3G data is not really their business. So they shouldn't have the right to price my data according to what I do with it.

Telecom companies should have the right to price their data services as per their wish since the sector is unregulated. 

However, I would like to remind TRAI that the sector is not perfectly competitive. I have just 1 or 2 players in my circle with decent coverage. In such a scenario, it's hardly fair that they form a cartel and decide on the prices.

I sincerely hope TRAI does not allow this anti-development step. I also hope the government is listening.
