Dear TRAI,
1. Please stop Telecom companies from charging differentially based on the service the consumer accesses. I think it is a cheap way of making more money based on what services are used most.
2. The telecom companies are extremely profitable because of exactly this large use of internet services like youtube, facebook, whatsapp etc. by their customer base.
3. Invariably reading data packets to find out "kind of service" being accessed is a breach of privacy even if they don't read the actual data.
4. One of the ways they could achieve "fast lanes" is by making everything else slow down. Again, the consumers pay more for the same thing.

To put it very plainly - this is equivalent to electricity co. charging consumers based on what AC, TV, or any other electrical appliance that you use. Forcing the company (eg: facebook etc) to pay to telecom co.s is bad too as facebook will be eventually make the final consumer pay for it in some way.

It is okay to have higher rates for data plans if they want more profit margins but not selectively.

Please consider this request and investigate further.

Thanks,
Kanika
