Hi,

This is in response to the sayings that TRAI is thinking to end the net neutrality along with the big internet providers- Airtel, Reliance, Idea and lot more. I would like to ask add my view points as well in this context:

Considering this idea of ending net neutrality is similiar to ending the freedom of speech, thoughts, which is basically the right of every individual. Paying money for internet makes sense, but paying money for particular websites doesn't make sense at all.

Why the net neutrality didn't come into picture before? Was it because the net traffic was low and internet was in the growing stage. And now when everyone considers it the lifeline, TRAI is thinking of taking that lifeline as well.

People pay for electricity, the electricity department should not be concerned about whether the electricity is being used by a TV or refrigerator or Microwave Oven. Similarly, People pay for Internet, the telecom companies should not be concerned about whether the internet is being used to tweet, or share on facebook or watching videos on YouTube.

Promoting the apps like Wynk by airtel or any other apps by any other company should be limited to their promotion perspective only, it should not be forced by them on the consumers which would become the case if the net neutrality would come to an end.

I would like to request you to think before taking the decision since ending net neutrality is ending the freedom of speech which in a country like India should not happen.

Thanks and Regards,
Ritansh
