Subject: Please reconsider your stance about charging for OTT services

I came across your email on an online article where it was mentioned that the TRAI is open to reasonable debate about whether Whatsapp messages/Skype calls should be separately charged for.

I believe it will be a very backward decision and one that would prove, beyond doubt, that TRAI is on the side of the service provider cartel instead of the consumers.

I hope you realize that once the implications of this fact reach the masses, there will be no way for TRAI to justify themselves. By asking everybody in the nation to pay for services that are effectively free, TRAI is acting as a henchman for companies.

In a technical sense, this is flawed too. The consumer is already paying for the data pipe; now on top of that you want the consumer to pay separately for each different type of data packets that are delivered on top of it. The companies are already making money on the data pipe itself, why should the customer have to pay them _extra_ now?
