Respected Sir,

I recently read that TRAI is planning to allow telecom companies to charge for using specific sites. That, is a serious violation of Net Neutrality and when across the world, telecom companies have been stopped from doing this, it comes as a shock that in a developing country like India, where knowledge and information is powering our growth, such a step is allowed.

Tim Burners Lee gave the world wide web to the world for free. Such a regulation would be a major blow to the spirit of the world wide web and lead to inequality in the system. Moreover, in our country, since everyone from farmers to rickshaw-wallahs use these web sites/apps these days for day to day work and communication, such a regulation would be devastating. I request TRAI to, therefore, reconsider any such decision and prevent regulations that take away the power of the internet as an empowering tool.

Regards,

a concerned citizen,

Abhishek
