I am a student pursuing a PhD at a very good university in US. Recently there was a big debate in US regarding all content on internet equally. It was decided that for the country, whose enconomy   is reliant on entrepreneurship and cutting edge research, keeping internet free is of at most importance.

As a researcher in the field of computer science, I cannot stress enough the need for internet to be neutral. For a guy considering to come back to India to pursue state of the art research, these new laws being considered honestly scare me. Please consider all the points being raised by people against the law before you go ahead with it. Bad laws in this field can have a very detrimental effect on the country on the long run.
