Dear Sir,

A humble request from an Indian Internet user.

I have noticed that due to a surge in the sales of smartphones access to the Internet has increased to a large extent.
The public has access to information at the touch of a screen.

This has helped the public in general.

The telecom operators in our country have noticed this and they now want to squeeze the public more by a single you to bring the OTT services under a license framework. If this happens the sole purpose of Internet will be defeated.
Access to information will be restricted.
Usage of  Facebook, Google, WhatsApp,  YouTube helps dissemination of information.

The telecom companies want to charge people separately for using these applications and services which defeats the purpose of Internet.

These big companies are already having their hands in the pockets of customers. Instead of providing a data pack plan for 30 days these companies are providing only for 28 days.
By doing this they are able to create one extra virtual month in a year. Effectively a customer pays rent for a period of 13 months instead of 12 months.

It is a humble request by an Indian that there should not be any concept of OTT services and the Internet should remain neutral. Else these telecom companies will provide only those OTT services in the base pack with whose partnership they expect a huge revenue. And will keep services like Google, YouTube, WhatsApp, weather apps, news apps etc. in chargeable basket. This will defeat the sole purpose of Internet and information access to people.

Please do not let this happen.

Thanks & Regards,
Ankur Agarwal
