TRAI,

I am Bharatkumar Hegde. I have used internet since the time internet it was a hit or miss mythical creature on the dial-up connection.

I strongly believe that the keeping the internet as a medium of communication equally accessible to everyone is in the best interest of our democratic system. Internet provides a fair playing field for all the voices, which is the essence of a good democracy. If net neutrality is taken away it becomes easy to silence voices and promote propaganda of those who can pay more. From history we know that it is not the best of things, esp. in case of nazi Germany and USSR, and current day China.

Free internet promotes e-commerce, where a new startup with limited resources can have a similar platform as a corporate giant and thrive. If the internet becomes a paid resource it hinders economic development and redistribution of wealth by killing smaller businesses and empowering giant corporations.

Free internet is also essential for personal development where free sites like youtube is providing education to millions (look for hank greene, john greene, scishow, crash course, veritasium, smarter every day to name a few). Not everyone can afford paid educational services online and hence it becomes more important to preserve net neutrality so that everyone has an equal access to such resources. Both free and paid websites should have the same ease of access for the end user.

Please preserve and protect net neutrality.

Cheers!
