Dear TRAI,

This is with reference to actions of some telecom carriers looking to impede fair access to the internet (Net Neutrality)

The internet is an essential service which I use to connect with family and friends, work and with public utilities. the transaction with reference to the internet is simple - I pay a fee for access to the worldwide web. ISPs pay similarly for their bandwidth. The intent to create discriminatory pricing structure is neither commercially acceptable nor is the kind of content profiling welcome. This puts ISPs and Telcos in a position of significant control which is against the free and unfettered principles of the Internet.

This cannot be in the interest of the private citizen or of the country. It puts us at a significant disadvantage with reference to other countries which have adopted protective practises intended to preserve net neutrality.

A framework which once and for all time to come preserves the Internet as an equal opportunity resource with no discriminatory tariff structure OR content filtering is essential. Access must be unfettered. ISPs and Telecos pay for a big fat pipe which is diced amongst their customers. The business model is simple. We cant be subject to structures which ISPs and Telecos dont suffer. It is TRAI's responsibility to preserve customer interests and keep that upper most in mind. We expect nothing less. We will accept nothing less.

Regards,
