Dear TRAI,

I am writing this email to express my concern over the recent actions taken by TELCOS to limit the freedom of internet over the citizens of India. Net neutrality is an essential part in a country's development because it allows people to use internet freely and share their ideas without biasing which the companies like Airtel, Vodafone etc are trying to put.

Net neutrality not only gives citizens their freedom of choice but also, promotes young aspiring artists to promote their materials which helps them to grow and do proud to the country. There are many channels of young artists on Youtube which depend on net neutrality because if it is not there then companies like Airtel will start determining what to watch and what not to thus eluding you of your rights.

Sure, companies will advocate that because of net neutrality they are suffering from losses, but that's not true. The market of Telecom is ever growing. 10 years back we had 2G, then came 3G and now we have 4G. With these advancements the profits made by a company will also grow because the better the network is the more people will buy it and use it. Now, it makes sense to pay for the bandwidth that we use and no one denies that but, it is really unbelievable to pay for the stuff that we choose to watch (we already have a Television for that) using that bandwidth of data that has already been paid for. Also, the Air wave over which these companies transmit are not owned by them. It belongs to India and its people. Companies like Airtel, Vodafone have just paid for it to use it and they have made quite a huge amount of profit in relation to the money that they spent on buying this spectrum.

So, in the end I would like to request you to think from the perspective of a common man how this anti-net neutrality is going to affect the citizens of India. Not only will it hinders the progress of our nation but also, declines us the freedom that we as a citizen are entitled to.

Thanks and regards,
Rishav Raj
