Dear Sir,
The principle of Net Neutrality it very important to me as it is cornerstone of innovation, freespeech and democracy on internet and without it people will have a less options and it would restrict the innovation on the internet. Additionally, I do not believe that ISP’s should be able to determine and control how I use the internet. I think this would be putting too much power in the ISPs to control what we can see and gear us towards the people who pay them. This will also diminish creativity as any other site will not be able to compete with the sites that pay ISPs. I believe this power should stay within the hands of the public.

Additionally, as a student, I believe this will negatively affect my studies and my future. Not having a free and open platform to communicate my ideas to my peers will negatively affect my innovation and my contributions to society.

You might have heard Airtel is now going to charge separately for VoIP calls in addition to charging for mobile data usage. This is not acceptable. This is a violation of the concept of net neutrality, which states that there should be no discrimination in the access to internet that ISPs provide us. And Airtel is doing just that; by charging separately for what is an internet service, they are violating the understanding that they are providing a connection to the internet.

Net Neutrality needs to be introduced into Indian telecom laws as soon as possible so that this disastrous move can be reverted. Please voice your support for introducing laws for the upholding of net neutrality.

Thank you,
