Dear TRAI, I am writing to express my concern against the actionsthat telecomcarriers are takingto restrictfairaccess to theinternet(Net Neutrality). I believe the internetis a vital resource - it helpsme communicate, work, and thrive as a citizen. Iftelecom operators can discriminateinternettraffic on the basisofwhich services pay themost, we are allowing telcoscontrol over a vital and necessarytechnological resource. By doingso we allow themto define what informationwe can view; whatentertainmentwe can access; and how companiescan innovate.
This is completelyunfairand harms India's long term role inthe global market. I strongly believe thegrowth oftelecomsand thewell-being oftheinternetcan go hand-in-hand. I'm asking for a framework to ensure long term and fairaccess for all servicesregardless ofsize. I wantmy generationand thosethat come aftermeto have unfetteredaccess to theInternet, withno telcosor ISPs havingthe abilityto chargefor specificservicesI useon top ofit. Pleaseunderstand that the internetis an importantresource and vital to meand to every other Indiancitizen. I wouldlike to seeit kept free and protectedunderNet Neutralityto ensure fairand equal accessfor all and forever.
